Conversation Cues

Because sometimes words need a running start.

These cards are here to help when the brain-buffer is buffering.

Whether you’re:

  • pausing to process,
  • trying to ask for space,
  • or wishing for a script when you’re out of spoons…

These cue cards are your pocket-sized backup plan.

They’re great for:

  • One-on-one convos
  • Group check-ins
  • Text-based chats
  • Or those “I know what I want to say, just… not how to say it” moments

Use them to advocate for your needs, name your feelings, and smooth over those glitchy, sparkly, totally-human misfires that happen in conversation.

Pro tip:
You’re not “cheating” by using a cue card.

You’re communicating on your terms—with creativity, clarity, and care. And that’s brilliant.

Here are some cues:

  • Can I take a moment to think before I answer?
  • I need clarification on that.
  • I’d like to circle back to something we’d talked about earlier.
  • I’m still processing — give me a sec.
  • I read this but need time to reply.
  • This message took a lot of energy to send — no need to respond fast.
  • I care, I just have low spoons today.
  • I see it differently — can I share?
  • I’m not ready to talk right now, but I will be later.
  • Can you support me by listening, not fixing?
